Shane O'Driscoll is a practicing barrister with a broad commercial practice. He has particular expertise in Information Technology, Intellectual Property and related areas of law. 
Prior to being called to the bar in Ireland, he worked in the Information Technology sector. His roles during that time were:

  • Software Developer; 
  • Project Manager;
  • Information Security Consultant;
  • System administrator 
He has worked and advised on large scale development projects as both a technical lead and project manager, assisting in the definition and delivery of the project and has extensive programming experience (particularly in Java and Perl and other web based languages). He has extensive experience in database system design and large transaction orientated web based systems. Shane speaks German fluently and lectures on the Freedom of Information Acts, the Data Protection Acts and other related areas of law. 


Shane is as comfortable discussing the technical elements of a case with clients and technical experts as with the court.
